BURBANK, CA - What does it take to live with fame? The CW's new show, The Next, is going to give some up-and-coming local musicians a reality check on what famous life is about!
Four music industry superstars - Gloria Estefan, John Rich, Nelly, and Joe Jonas - will travel from city-to-city trying to groom one contestant for 72 hours.
The 72-hours will be a mentoring session intended to help the 'on-the-brink-of-success' artists make the leap from opening act to headliner.
The artists, being from Orlando, Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles already have huge hometown followings, and large social media presence. It's time to see who's cut out for The Next level of success!
The industry superstars will not only mentor contestants, they will somewhat take over their lives, tagging along to day jobs and meals, and anywhere else they feel like tagging along!
At the end of the 72-hour mentoring session, four newly groomed artists face-off at a local event. The winner moves on to semi-finals. The crew then moves to a new city with four more contestants.
After all 6 cities are visited, the winners battle it out until one contestant remains. The winner of The Next will be rewarded with a recording contract with Atlantic Records!
The Next premieres Thursday, August 16 at 9/8c on The CW!
